Mason's Baptism

Mason's baptism was held on Saturday, November 20 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He wore a Christening gown that has been passed down for 5 generations. . . it goes back to Mr. Roy's (Seth's grandfather's) mother. Mr. Roy was then baptised in it as was his children. Then several of Seth's cousins also wore the gown for their Christening.

His God parents are Tyler and Sarah Huerkamp.

During the ceremony, I was concerned Mason was going to throw one of his crying fits. As we were introduced before church began, Mason's face turned very red. I immediately started sweating... "here it comes..." Much to our surprise, instead of the tears and yells, he laughed! He laughed and smiled throughout the service and the ceremony! We couldn't believe it.

Parents (Seth and Jodie) and Godparents (Tyler and Sarah) introduce Mason to the congregation.
Can you tell there was an MSU football game that afternoon? Mason was outgrowing the gown so we had to hurry and schedule it despite the ball game.

Father John explains the sacrament of baptism.

Mason was very alert the entire time. Hopefully he was paying attention to what Father John was telling him and he will be a good boy for the rest of his life, just like he's suppose to.
Seth told everyone that we had been practicing this part in the bathtub.

No tears! I actually think he enjoyed the water part because he was hot and sweaty in that gown.

Mason was laughing at Seth.

He was cracking all of us up!
